Plastician's Sound That Speaks Volumes

For the 5th annual May Mix helmed by Plastician, the man himself has given the series a little name change to Sound That Speaks Volumes. The mix went live a couple of minutes ago and you can grab it below in either a continuous format or individual tracks depending on your tastes. Tracklist is messy on this with Newham Generals, Skream, Om Unit and loads more all featuring. Not normally the sort of thing we'd post, but these mixes have traditionally been a pretty big deal within the community so it's kinda essential. Grab it below and see what ya think!

Girl Unit x FACT

Another stellar mix from the FACT camp for you now, this time from the Night Slugs' Girl Unit. If you haven't heard of this dude and his recent IRL EP then get familiar cos his sound is fresh! Taking influence from juke, footwork and Chicago ghetto-tech this producer is definitely one to watch. This mix features tunes from juke masters DJ Rashad and Addison Groove, as well as classics from Timbaland, Aaliyah and of course the ma himself. Enjoooooy!

Two big releases dropping over the next week or so from two of dnb's hottest and most in demand producers. First up is Rockwell's 12" for Shogun Audio which features Full Circle backed with My War. Rather than releasing these tunes on sister label SGN:LTD Rockwell first single for the Shogun famo is being released on the Shogun Audio proper which says a lot about this guy's reputation.

Next up is a debut single for Stray, his 12" for Critical sees a release this week with Erase and Locked Up on the flip. A massive release for someone destined to make a big impact in the scene over the years to come. Keep ya eyes/ears peeled for this one! It's a biggie!

Outside The Box B****es

Details have finally emerged of Skream's long awaited and much hyped sophomore album on Tempa. It has been announced today that the album, entited 'Outside The Box' will be released on 26th July (not tooooooo long). Here's the full tracklist, with a few surprises in that 'Give You Everything' and Skream's collab with the Newham Generals 'I Can't Wait' do not feature for some reason. They may be coming on the bonus tracks but thought they would be leading the LP, at least in my opinion anyway given the hype around those tunes. Either way this album looks set to be very big indeed!

There will also be another Skreamizm before the year's end as well as the Magnetic Man album so lots to look forward to!

FREE MJ Cole, Roska & Four Tet

First up, my apologies for the lack of posts at the minute. Exams and a load of other stuff are the reasons for this but here's a post for ya now with some exclusive free tunes for you :-) First up is garage don MJ Cole's take on Primary 1's Princess. Bouncing funky on this one, on a similar tip to the tunes that featured on his massive Riddim EP earlier this year.

Next up is good news for everybody! Bleep.com are making available exclusive free tunes from some of the underground's biggest names in celebration and preparation for their appearance at this year's Sonar Fesitval in Barcelona. Artists that will feature in the free compilation include Roska, Hudson Mohawke, The Blessings, 2020 Soundsystem and King Midas Sound. At the momene, the only tunes available are from Roska and Fuck Buttons but over the course of the coming weeks more will appear so keep your eyes peeled.

FREE Brackles & L-Vis 1990

Couple of remixes of the same tune up for grabs now via XLR8R and FACT. First up is Brackles' take on Poland's Supra1. Off-key synths and loadsa percussion give the track a I Love London kinda of feeling.

Next up is Night Slug L-Vis 1990's rework of the same riddim. Low slung, bass heavy funky in typical Night Slug style. Not as good as the Brackles remix in my opinion, but hey, what do you think?

Dusk & Blackdown Present 'Margins Music LIVE'

Dubstep stalwarts Dusk and Blackdown are debuting their new live show next month, as they translate their critically acclaimed Margins Music LP to the live stage, still embracing the album's theme of 'sounds of unseen London' through the use of Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu vocals.
