RUSTIE TO THE RESCUE

More free tunes coming through the postbox at the moment, this time a tune I've been loving for a while....Glasweigan wizard Rustie has decided to give away his reworking of Keisha Cole, aptly titled 'Keesha Resmack'. This tune is too biggg and I cannot wait for his debut LP coming on Warp which hopefully should be out early next year (fingers crossed).

BONUS:

Of course Koyejo won't be interested in these tunes.......

80s baby

From now (well as long as I decide) I'll be posting FUNK.

BREAKAGE FOR FACT MAGAZINE

Brekagae takes to the decks for the latest FACT magazine mix. Breakage can do no wrong in my opinion at the moment, everything he touches turns to gold, currently his tune with Erin 'Justify' is by far my favourite tune. Such a big track!!!! I cannot wait for his album which hopfeully should be dropping on Digital Soundboy early next year.

He's one of the only producers/DJs that can change effortlessly between dnb and dubstep, making it look easy and has the ability to maintain high levels of production in both genres too.

FREEBIES

This one is courtesy of the Chrome Kids who got sent this by Toddla T. It's first single being released on the Girl Music label that he has set up with Raf Rundell. The vocal are quite eerie and at first I didnt really like the song but its has grown on me very quickly...maybe because of its hypnotic quality??

T Willy - Come And Play (Skreamix) HERE

This next one is strictly eyes down bizness. Its been getting plays from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs and Zane Lowe. Both coming out of Germany it seems like they are match made in heaven. This is another eerie one with ticking clocks, cymbals and chilling vocals to top it off. Scuba has done very well with this one so cop it while its hot!

Emika - Drop The Other (Scuba's Vulpine Remix) HERE

ABOUT TO BLOW : DOCTOR P

Doctor P is a producer getting a lot of attention in the tearout scene at the minute. His 2 biggest tunes to date 'Sweet Shop' and 'Badman Sound' are currently being repped hard by Caspa, Skream, Benga and Rusko so this dude must be doing something right!

We managed to track him down and he agreed to do a little interview and an EXCLUSIVE mix for us here at Disrupt:on Inc.

Here's what the man had to say:

What releases do you have forthcoming? Badman Sound is coming out on Dub Police isn't it?
Forthcoming releases are:
'Badman Sound' on Dub Police, haven't got a date yet though! It should be early next year. 'Stinkfinger' with Flux Pavilion (next release on XSDubz). On Circus 004 is 'Sweet Shop/Gargoyle', promo on 14th December, with full release in the New Year! I also have a couple of remixes in the pipeline for a couple of labels, so keep your eye out for them!
Are you gonna be working exclusively with Dub Police from now on?
I want to concentrate my efforts on Circus to build it up as something on par with Dub Police and hopefully all the other top dogs.
I know you're tight with another Dub Police wonderkid Trolley Snatcha. How did you guys first link up? Have you got any collaborations together coming up?
Me and Trolley have known each other since we were about 10 years old. Trolley and Flux Pavilion have known each other even longer than that! We have all been doing music together for as long as I can remember, along with Flux's brother DJ Amadeus (check out amadeus's track 'Turkish Delight' comin on Circus soon!)
Me and Trolley have made a few tunes together, but they're all floating at the moment!
You're co-owner of Circus Records as well, what releases are forthcoming on your label?
Brown + Gammon's 'Painkillers', along with Switchdubs 'Back With A Vengeance' are soon to drop on circus 002! After that we've got Flux P's 'Voscillate'/'Night Goes On'. Swiftly followed by my 'Sweet Shop/Gargoyle' release! after that we've got a 12" from Funtcase and we're talkinG with Datsik and Cookie Monsta too! (not to mention remixes from Giant and Trolley Snatcha on the way!) We're also doing some exclusively digital releases; our first digital EP is out 30th November, featuring Flux Pavilion, Amadeus, Brown & Gammon and myself.

Our aim with the label is to build up a name known for doing unusual, but still highly accessible music. And trying to keep monotonous wobble to a minimum
Top 5 tunes at the minute?
Sweet Shop!!
Funtcase - So Vexed
Cookie Monsta - Fat Girl Rodeo
Flux Pavilion - Meathead
Stenchman - Just A Girl
Your favourite producers around at the moment? Anyone you really want to get in the studio with?
16 bit are totally killin, it with their production, there's nothin like it! I think 16bit + Doctor P could equal danger!
Any producers to look out for next year? Anyone who is really gonna blow up?
I think cookie monsta is gonna hit somethin big pretty soon! He's already an online legend and he hasn't even had a vinyl release yet! Borgore's definitely one to watch out for too; he's doinG something totally unique in the dubstep world.
What does 2010 hold for you?
Over the last few months of 2009 I seem to have catapulted into the dubstep scene with only a handful of tracks under my belt, I only hope that I'll continue to rise over the next year at the same speed!

Doctor P also found the time to do an exclusive mix for us as well which you can download below:

INTRODUCING : SRC

SRC is one of Birmingham's leading grime producers. Since around 2003 he has been creating tracks and releasing downloadable promos via the Internet.

He has also worked with a Range of MCs & Artists, including Vader,DEVelpoment, Badness, Black The Ripper and Untitled, to name but a few.

With recent support from Rinse FM's Elijah & Skilliam, DJ Oneman and a host more others he is now preparing to release tracks via digital distribution & vinyl.

I heard his remix of the LL Cool J - Hey Lover Instrumental on Starkey's Seclusiasis radio show and was like 'oh shit need to get in touch with this guy!' It should be coming out next year serious Sexstep vibes on it, if you've heard the original then you'll know! LL if you read this then how 'bout some new bars over it!

This mix is full of Mario vocal samples some of which caused an argument over the weekend because as I correctly stated there is no Mario Kart character called Dino! Anyways the mix is 17 mins long so download it and let us know what you think! More importantly if you do like it hit up SRC on myspace and let him know yourself! Definitely one to watch for the future so make sure you keep on checkin up on him!

To celebrate FWD>>+Rinse's new residency at Matter they have managed to convince Skream to give his MASSIVE tune 'What Did He Say' away for FREE. Yes that's right FREEEEE!

This tunes is super big so make sure you download it below:

Big up Rinse and Skream for this one!

INTRODUCING : KiGma

I was floating around the net and happened to stumble across this guy and I'm glad I did because his production is pretty nice! He's a 24 year old architect coming out of Bordeaux and has been producing for 3 years. Like many, he's a dnb man gone dub. His reason for doing so is from listening to the likes of Plastician, Skream & Distance 4 years ago. In his own words (through free translation) he makes this music because its more than listening to it, its feeling the bass! Check him out and let him and us know what you think!

EMALKAY ON THE BUTTONS FOR DOGS ON ACID

Emalkay has done an interview and mix for the boys over at Dogs On Acid. I'm not gonna go on about how 'he's responsible for the massive tune 'When I Look At You'' cos that tune is nearly a year old now and he's more than a one trick pony!

MODERAT

Moderat consists of Apparat and Modeselektor and my my my don't the three of them make an incredible team! I only found out about this collaboration on Friday and I feel like I've had my head stuck my arse for not knowing about this!

They formed way back in 2002 when the three of them recorded an EP for record label BPitch Control and then were on hiatus. They finally joined up again 6 yeras later to work on the album and thank God they did!

The lead single on the album 'Rusty Nails' has been remixed by heavyweights such as Booka Shade and Shackleton. Seamonkey another track from the album was remixed by man of the minute - Untold. The self entitled album was released April 2009 and the stand out track for me is the bass heavy 'No.22' which in my eyes is perfect combination of techno and dubstep.

REDLIGHT IN THE MIX

Redlight has done a little promo mix before his set at Fabric last night for Scratch Pervert's present Beatdown. He's a super relevant producer at the moment and is in high demand.

His tunes like 'Feels So Good', 'Kid Soldiers' and 'Pick Up The Phone' with Jenna G on the vocals have been smashing up dancefloors up and down the country.

I'm gonna catch him at Metropolis presents Hospitality in Leeds on Saturday and will be doing a detailed set review so make sure you check that out!

We're also gonna be doing an exclusive interview and feature on the man himself in the near future so get excited about that!

Download it HERE

RM237 & EXODUS PRESENT: TECTONIC SHOWCASE @ WIRE

Headed down to the Wire again on Friday night this time for the Tectonic party put on by Room 237 and Exodus. The line up was huge with label owner Pinch, Kryptic Minds and 2562 on the buttons, along with Jack Sparrow and Exodus himself. I was expecting a straight up eyes down rave, but instead the night was pretty much 100% dancefloor business.

Kryptic Minds were first on the played a filthy set. After doing the interview with them a few weeks back, I was excited to see them and see what kind of set they would play. I knew it was going to be sick when the first tune (One Of Us VIP) gave me goosebumps. His skills and technique on the decks was impressive with incredible track selection. Rather than being straight eyes down business, the set was full of dark bass driven halfstep riddems with tunes like 'Badman' and Distance's remix of 'Tell Me' getting the crowd hype before 2562 took to the decks.

He played an incredible set with sick track selection. Some of the tunes were proper techno and wouldn't have been out of place on the Terrace in Cocoon @ Amnesia. If you haven't got his new album 'Unbalance' then make sure you grab it as this guy is definitely an absolute badboy producer.

Next up was Pinch and I was so hyped to see him as I hadn't seen him play out for a few months and I'm loving his production at the moment. His set was actually a f***ing JOOOOKE! Some of the tunes he was playing were absolutely massive. I don't know the names of them because he refused to give me any track id's, but big tunes that I knew the names of included Benga's 'Descending', Skream's 'Metal Mouth VIP', the RSD mix of 'Get Up' and some sick new Distance bits. The last track of his set was one of his own tunes, with some proper tribal drums, which apparently only him and Mala have at the minute! Dread MC was perfect MC perfectly balancing spitting bars and knowing when to let the music do the talking! He complemented the music perfectly rather than trying to steal the limelight (which is more than can be said for a lot of MCs in the scene).

Overall, in typical Exodus style it was a banging night with sick music and a good crowd. The Wire continues to be my favourite club in Leeds by far, so if you haven't been down already make sure you get down there soon!

Stay locked for more info regarding a collaboration between Disrupt:on Inc. and Wire nightclub, an upcoming feature on man like Dread MC and details of our night (Disrupt:on Inc. Presents Disrupt:on 001) which will be held at Wire due to start in February 2010.

Big up Wayne, Wire, Pinch, Exodus and Dread MC for their support.

FWD>> has some big nights coming up. On 15th November, they have N-Type, Noah D and Brackles vs. Shortstuff. Then, on 22nd November they host Benga, Luke.Envoy and Pangaea. So if you're in the Shoreditch area then head down to Plastic People!

The Art Of Hosting : C Strike Z & Koast

I went down to Central Spillz HQ to have a chat with these guys and find out what they're about. If you reside in Bristol then you will have definately seen these faces! They've pretty much got the Bristol raves on lock and are representing the Central Spillz family (other members are Mackie Skillz, Redskin, Shadz, Superisk & Interface) to the fullest.

Strikez, who changed his name from Crimez after some MPs reaction to it when introduced for a performance, began MCing to garage through listening to pirate radio in London, before getting into hip hop when he moved to Morcambe (who says nothing good comes out of Morcambe?!). Koast is another garage kid turned rapper who began MCing in his teens back in London, but says things only got serious after moving to Bristol and meeting all the heads here. They both got into dubstep in around 2006 and saw it as the perfect sound to fit the vibe they were on - proper hip hop song writing but over faster, more interesting production.

They're both long-time Shit The Bed & Penguin Dance residents, but you can also catch Koast on the regular at the likes of HENCH & Shoestring, whilst Strikez can count Crazylegs, Weapon of Choice & Chip In amongst his residencies. Over the last couple of years they have MCed for the likes of Skream, Benga, Plastician & N-Type as well as the local names such as Joker, Gemmy, Komonazmuk & Chasing Shadows. When not on stage in clubs such as Motion, Thekla & Lab, these lot are always writing!

Their favourite host outside the immediate Spillz crew is Dread MC who they say "has the perfect balance between spittin and gettin the crowd hyped." Message from Koast & Strikez - to all shit MCs and 'mic cats': "stop spitting 100 bars of breeze and ruining raves!". As they put it so well, people in dubstep pay to see the DJs not the MCs, you're there to work with the DJ not against him or her! On a more health conscious note, they say "STOP DOING KETAMINE!" Why pay for a rave and then end up too messy to even know what's going on?!

If you ever hear "what you know about, what you know about," shouted in a rave and you didn't know before, now you do!!! Big up to Koast and Strikez who have welcomed me in Bristol!!!! Watch out for more coming from the Central Spillz crew in the next few weeks!

Shout outs to the whole of Spillz! H.E.N.C.H, Shit The Bed, The Blast, Shoestring, Byte (R.I.P), Penguin Dance, Bristol crew, London crew, North West Crew, and everyone else who ever supported!
